Dental Implants are the ultimate in hi-tech
replacement of natural teeth. Dental implants are a product of a team made
up of an oral surgeon and a restorative dentist. The oral surgeon will
place one or more cylindrical titanium implants into the jaw where the tooth or
teeth are missing. After a period of 3 to 4 months, the surgeon will place
a post on the implant on which the restorative dentist will place a
CROWN or BRIDGE, depending on
how many teeth are being replaced. Multiple dental implants can also be
used to support a FULL DENTURE or
PARTIAL DENTURE if many or all teeth are missing
and the supporting bone is inadequate to allow proper chewing function.
